So, hands down, the weirdest thing about being at the Nebula Awards Weekend is that I keep meeting, for the first time, people I've known for years.
I've mourned with them, cheered for them, fought with them even. We see each other and and say hi just like old friends who've just been apart for a while. But we've never even once been in the same room at the same time.
In many ways, I know these people better than I know people I see every day.
And I had a robot serve me a drink this afternoon.
We are living in the cyberpunk future.
