The flight naturally follows a great circle route going across the midsection of Greenland.
Although most of my transatlantic trips are in the summertime, this one was just a few weeks from the winter solstice.
Thus, as we approached the Arctic Circle, the sun dipped lower until it was getting orangy and sunset-like. And then it bobbed back up again into the sky as we headed back south. Very odd.
