Free-ish books & booklike things @ 01:58 pm

Tags:

I think of you, my dear friends, before I think of Goodwill. Free to a good home, or free+shipping to a distant good home (except for Richard, who has built up book postage karma). You can probably hunt through my book tag for reviews, if you're dedicated, but obviously I'm not too interested in keeping these books. Reply to place dibs. We'll work out handoffs as and when.

Losing my Religion by William Lobdell
Accelerando by Charlie Stross
An Evil Guest by Gene Wolfe
Brief Intervals of Horrible Sanity by 'teacher' Elizabeth Gold
Chindi by Jack McDevitt
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman

DVD and book - Esteban's learning to play guitar (I've decided I don't like the feeling of calluses)

CD - Purcell's Dido & Aeneas

Rock Band game-only for PS3

Don't need any of these, and already gave away my own copy of Chindi, but I would like to request a review of Kim Stanley Robinson's Galileo's Dream when you get hold of a copy and some spare time.

(I'm almost through with it, and it seems like your kinda thing, but the physics is a bit over my head and I'm not sure how you'll like where the narrative seems to be coming down on the "science vs. religion" aspect, although there are still a few chapters left for him to throw a twist at me...)

early calluses are much worse than mature ones. I hardly notice mine, and they're stronger than ever. a thinly strung electric guitar may also help. don't stop believin'.

Seriously, you're giving away Rock Band?

Is it still available?

Maybe we'll get a PS3 someday.

Well, I got it for free in the bundle from C&L, so I figgered I'd at least try to give it away for free. So it's yours when next we meet.
