Not Long For This World, by August Derleth

Not Long For This World collects a number of Derleth's short stories. In an uncharacteristic statement -- both for self-deprecation and for cleverness of language -- Derleth declares these trifles to be rather poor, destined not to become immortal, but rather 'not long for this world'.
A few have a good Tales From the Crypt sort of grue about them, but for the most part these are the not very good products of a not very good author.
