Confirmation bias from the loony end of the street @ 09:21 am

The Christian forum I frequent recently shuttered its doors and moved to facebook. It's almost as bad as I imagined. But it continues to provide the occasional wondrous thing.

Someone linked to this, in all sincerity. Without reading it -- just looking at the page -- how trustworthy does it seem?
I particularly like the ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ image macro with the bullet-holed UN helmet. That's some erudite shit, right there.

Anyway it purports to be a list of "Executive orders from the Communist in the White House" -- things like

Executive Order 11490: Establishes presidential control over all United States citizens, businesses, and churches in times of "emergency".

That sounds terrible, doesn't it? What kind of egomaniacal madman is Obama?

For a certain kind of paranoid nut, that must go straight to the pleasure center of the brain, and there the matter ends. But for others of us, we may want to know a little more. But how, in this modern age, could you determine what Executive Order 11490 really is? Think, friends, by what means could facts about the external world be presented to you?

Let Me Google That For You

October 28, 1969.

(signed) Richard Nixon

Of course, to the true conspiracy theorist, this just shows how deep the rabbit hole goes.

One might observe that Richard Nixon - whose signature policy achievements during his presidency were rapprochement with China, ending the Vietnam war, two major arms control treaties, wage and price controls, starting the EPA, and the Clean Air Act - would be a raging Communist freedom-hating liberal traitor by the standards of the modern right wing.
