Two Medical stories from Doubtful News @ 09:33 am

"During the trial underway this week in Vancouver, the court heard evidence that at the time of the slaying, the accused was off his prescribed medication and was trying to treat himself with a brand of multivitamins called True Hope Empower Plus, which is marketed on the internet to people with mental illness."

Certain words in that sentence may tip you off that this substitution of vitamins for anti-psychotic medicine did not end well.

"At 8 months, his mother allegedly decided to discontinue the medication. ... She claimed to have given her son an herbal seaweed remedy. ... Doctors say that the boy, now 7-years-old, has suffered permanent abnormal development and brain damage because he has gone untreated."
