Journal of No. 118

August 24th, 2012

Don't worry, your lack of rights can keep @ 09:31 pm

I was disappointed when there was no opportunity to have a do-over on prop 8 in 2010. No do-over in 2012, either.
How's 2014 looking? Or will you be washing your hair that year?

I think the equality orgs are prioritizing the court case over the ballot right now.

Of course. I'm an idiot.

But I'd still like to see it put to popular vote.

Agreed. A successful popular vote would be a really important advance (if I'm not mistaken, gay marriage has not been legalized in any state by popular vote - only by courts and by legislatures.)

And while I was against putting it on the ballot in 2010 (because I was sure that it would fail), I think we're at the tipping point and this year it would probably succeed in California.
